Strad comp

Bree was selected to participate in the Stradivarius competition Utah division.

She had to play two contracting Bach Sonatas and a Paganini, a show piece and a movement of a Concerto. She was accompanied by the amazing Koji Atwood (someone to google), he graduated from both Curtis and Juilliard.
Her program was
Bach Sonata #3 in C Largo & Allegro Assui
Paganini Caprice #9
Polonaise Brillante No.1 In D Major Op.4  Henryk Wieniawski
Bruch: Violin Concerto #1 In G Minor, Op. 26 - 3. Finale: Allegro Energic

She ended up placing 5th, quite an accomplishment considering her competition.

She got to meet one of her favorite violinists, Andres Cardneas. He was very kind he sent her some of his Cds later and told her teacher he was impressed with her.

4th of July

Last 4th of July we started out watching Saydi in the Parade.
It was a warm July day....I think that's the first time my family has watched the Layton City 4th of July Parade. We were lucky to find the spot by the gas station so the kids could go buy drinks.
Grandma came with us she is always a trooper!

We then mosied up to North Ogden for their firework show where Uncle Gary's band plays every year. The kids think that's pretty cool.

Braces off

Just in time to start 8th grade!

BYU music camp

Bree went to BYU for a summer music camp....her first sleep away camp (besides girls camp). She roomed with her sweet friend Maggie Ivory and had a wonderful time. She was chosen to play in the solo recital and got picked to be concert master for the whole orchestra. Her chamber group also performed in the concert.

So fun to go with friends
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, this picture says it all.

And of course we have to hit the BYU creamery! (it's not Aggie Ice Cream, but it will do)
